With a Ductless Air Conditioner Installation
A ductless air conditioner, also known as a ductless mini split system, provides an array of options and solutions. A ductless AC unit is different than a traditional split system because it comes in all shapes and sizes and does not require ducts inside your walls. Consequently, a ductless AC system fits in almost any space, and the configurations are almost endless.
Installing a ductless AC system is ideal to cool an older home that wasn’t built to include ductwork within the walls. Or, you might be downsizing a larger home and you only want to focus your cooling energy in one or two rooms. Ductless air conditioning can accomplish that, too, with minimal visual impact. Same goes for a room addition or adding a boost to a room that’s too hot or too cold.
Ductless Air Conditioners … Just the Facts
Ductless mini split systems are configured with either one or more indoor units powered by a single-inverter-controlled, variable-speed outdoor compressor unit. The inverter compressor delivers maximum comfort by speeding up or slowing down to adjust the cooling capacities to meet specific needs. By continuously working, the ductless AC unit doesn’t waste energy starting up like traditional HVAC systems. Moreover, a ductless AC system is very efficient because there is no energy loss in the ducts.
A ductless air conditioner is relatively quick to install since there is no ductwork involved. The only requirement is a single, small hole in the wall for refrigerant tubing and electrical wiring. The indoor unit usually is wall-mounted.
One indoor unit hooked up to the outdoor compressor is called a single-zone system. This installation takes anywhere from three to seven hours. A multi-zone ductless AC unit combines the outdoor unit powering up to five indoor units and enables you to create independent temperature zones in different rooms.
While ductless air conditioners may seem to be a simple concept, their installation should be left to companies well-versed in their intricacies. Gold Star’s technicians are knowledgeable about making sure the correct system size is selected for your particular needs. If the wrong size ductless AC system is installed, it will work poorly and probably have a short lifespan. We know how to handle the sensitive electronic parts of the ductless AC unit. We’ll also professionally create the opening in the wall to run the refrigerant tubing and electrical wiring and tightly seal it when finished.
